Hello Crown Pointe Community,
Welcome to SEW Saturday, a newsletter the social emotional wellness (SEW) committee sends out with ideas we feel can help our community build resilience and stay connected.
We wanted to share some exciting news with you. The Kindness Club Keep the Cold Out fundraiser was a success! Together our community raised a total of $1,500.00! We were only $500 short of our goal and we feel proud that we almost made it, especially with hybrid and virtual school going on in the middle of a pandemic!
We are so grateful to everyone who donated to this cause. Because of your generosity we are able to provide 21 hotel vouchers for people who need shelter this winter through our partnership with One By One Helping Arvada Homeless, Grace Church of Arvada, and The Severe Weather Shelter Network.
We would especially like to acknowledge a donor who generously gave $400 to get us to the $1,500 mark! From all the students in the Kindness Club and all of us at CPA we want to THANK YOU for making a difference in the lives of people in our community.
In other news, we finally got through all the letters in our NOURISH program and today we would like to share an article called “ 5 Ways to Nourish Your Brain”.
This article is a short read with a great overview of what we’ve been covering in the NOURISH program. It discusses how the brain works and why it is so important to do activities that can improve brain function and enhance mental well-being. Specifically it talks about mindfulness, exercise, mental stimulation, nutrition, and connection to others.
Give it a read and let us know what you think at SEW@crownpointeacademy.org.
We hope you have a great weekend!
