The first quarter of the 25-26 school year wrapped up on Friday last week. Now is a great time to talk with your child about setting some goals for the 2nd quarter. Do you want to improve your attendance or grade in a specific class? Maybe you want to practice your instrument more or get better in a skill. Brainstorm ideas together with your child on strengths and areas to improve. Make the goals specific and measurable. Break the tasks into smaller chunks, and celebrate successes along the way. Setting school goals with your children is a fantastic way to teach them valuable life skills like responsibility, planning, and perseverance. Let’s have a great 2nd quarter!
Reminder: Fall Break is this week. There is NO SCHOOL for students on Thursday, October 16th, Friday, October 17th, or Monday, October 20th. Students return on Tuesday, October 21st, and 1st quarter report cards will be sent home that day. Have a great fall break!
Jeans day will be on Wednesday, October 15th this week due to Fall Break.

Support CPA’s National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) by dining at Dickey’s BBQ on Tuesday, October 14th from 4:00-9:00. We hope to see you there!
Van Gogh School Photography will be here this Wednesday, October 15th for picture retakes and class pictures. If your student was absent on our original picture day, he/she will be photographed for a school ID. If you would like your child to have a retake, please return your original photo package to the school in exchange for the retake. Class pictures will be taken outside weather permitting. All students must be in regular CPA uniform for pictures with the exception of kindergarten students, who will be attending the Miller Farm field trip and have permission to wear their western clothes. Pre-order your pictures HERE, click on Before Picture Day, and enter our school code: 30032414. Any paper order forms should be turned in to Van Gogh on picture day. Please contact the front office with any questions.
Eye Love Care is coming to CPA on Thursday, October 30th, Friday, October 31st, and Monday, November 3rd! Eye Love Care will be giving free eye exams and eyewear to students, all at no cost to parents/families! Sign your child up NOW to participate!

As the first quarter has ended, we want to thank all of our VOLUNTEERS for their hard work at board meetings, PTA meetings, school events and activities, in the classroom, and on field trips. We have also had a very successful brown bag pick up event. A huge THANK YOU to all of you. As a reminder, families are asked to complete 60 hours of volunteer time over the course of the school year. If you purchased jeans for your student, 20 hours will be added to your total. As a school, we have logged 464 hours this year. If you have hours to submit or any questions, please send an email to volunteer@

El primer trimestre del año escolar 25-26 finalizó el viernes pasado. Ahora es un buen momento para hablar con tu hijo sobre cómo establecer metas para el segundo trimestre. ¿Quieres mejorar tu asistencia o tus calificaciones en alguna clase específica? ¿Quizás quieras practicar más tu instrumento o mejorar alguna habilidad? Intercambien ideas con tu hijo sobre sus fortalezas y áreas de mejora. Establece metas específicas y medibles. Divide las tareas en partes más pequeñas y celebra los logros a medida que avanzan. Establecer metas escolares con tus hijos es una manera fantástica de enseñarles valiosas habilidades para la vida, como la responsabilidad, la planificación y la perseverancia. ¡Que tengas un excelente segundo trimestre!
Recordatorio: Las vacaciones de otoño son esta semana. NO HAY CLASES para los estudiantes el jueves 16 de octubre, viernes 17 de octubre o lunes 20 de octubre. Los estudiantes regresan el martes 21 de octubre y ese mismo día se enviarán las boletas de calificaciones del primer trimestre. ¡Que tengan unas felices vacaciones de otoño!
El día de los jeans será el miércoles 15 de octubre de esta semana debido a las vacaciones de otoño.

El equipo de Fotografía Escolar Van Gogh estará presente este miércoles 15 de octubre para tomarse fotos repetidas y tomar fotos de clase. Si su hijo/a faltó el día de la foto original, se le tomará una foto para obtener una identificación escolar. Si desea que su hijo/a se tome una foto repetida, devuelva el paquete original de fotos a la escuela a cambio de la misma. Las fotos de clase se tomarán al aire libre si el clima lo permite.Todos los estudiantes deben estar en el uniforme regular de CPA para las fotografías, con la excepción de los estudiantes de jardín de infantes, que asistirán a la excursión de Miller Farm y tienen permiso para usar su ropa occidental. Al finalizar el primer trimestre, queremos agradecer a todos nuestros voluntarios por su arduo trabajo en las reuniones de la junta directiva, las reuniones de la Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA), los eventos y actividades escolares, en el aula y en las excursiones. También tuvimos un evento de recogida de bolsas de papel muy exitoso. ¡Muchas gracias a todos! Les recordamos que se les pide a las familias que completen. 60 horas de voluntariado a lo largo del año escolar. Si compró jeans para su estudiante, se añadirán 20 horas a su total.
