Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. This Thursday, January 23rd, Mr. Varner will be offering a special FISH Jr. event for students in grades K-3 from 3:45-5:00 in the gym.  The regular Fitness Inspired School Health (FISH) team will lead some fun activities to support Jump Rope for Heart.  To participate, all students must have a signed permission slip, which is available on the CPA website.  Contact Mr. Varner with any questions. The CPA-PTA is hosting the Snowball Dance this Friday, January 24th from 5:30-8:30 p.m.  Join us for a night of fun with food, music, and dancing!  Entrance to the dance is free, and concessions will be available for purchase.  If you are interested in volunteering to help with the dance, please sign up by clicking here.  See the flyer on the CPA website for more information.  This event is open to all students K-8 and ALL students must be accompanied by an adult. IMPORTANT! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  We need judges for the National History Day Middle School Showcase at CPA on Tuesday, January 28th.  Training for judges will begin at 5:00 p.m., and dinner will be provided to volunteers.  You may judge any category (unless you have a middle school student participating in that category).  If you have neighbors, family, coworkers, or friends who may be willing to judge, please pass the registration information on to them.  There are two ways to sign up to help: Use the following link: https://forms.gle/szk5y9mYusTpTKTK9 Email Bonnie Hughes at bonnie.hughes@crownpointeacademy.org. If your student is missing a coat, sweatshirt, lunchbox, water bottle, etc., please stop by the office this week to check out the lost and found!  Anything not claimed by the end of the week will be donated. We have some fun events this week as we approach Winter Break: Pajama Day is this Wednesday, December 18th.   Students may wear school appropriate pajamas, slippers, and robes to school.  Please make sure your student also has a pair of shoes for recess and PE. Holiday Shirt Day is Thursday, December 19th.   Students may wear school appropriate holiday shirts along with jeans if they purchased jeans for the year. The Holiday Sing-a-Long and choir performance is this Thursday, December 19th at 10:30 a.m. If you plan to come for your student’s classroom party, please be aware of where you a parking.  Do not park in no parking zones or in the condo parking spaces.  For overflow parking, please use the lot behind the shopping center. The PTA has several fun activities happening this week: The Fun Services Holiday Shop will be available for students to purchase gifts for their family members after school this week from 3:15-5:00 and also during the Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, December 14th.  Flyers with information were sent home with students on Friday last week. The first Holiday Craft Fair is this Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th from 10:00-5:00 at Crown Pointe Academy.  The PTA needs your help!  If you would be willing to take a shift at the welcome table, concession stand, Fun Services booth, or kid’s craft area, please sign up HERE. Join us for the first Holiday Craft Fair on December 14th and 15th from 10:00-5:00.  Do your holiday shopping from 40+ local vendors, have your picture taken with Santa, enjoy the kid’s craft area, and more!  This fun event is free to attend.  See the flyer on the CPA website for more information. Are you looking for volunteer hours?  Stop by the cafeteria during dismissal this Friday, December 13th for our next Brown Bag Pick Up Event.  The process is simple: just sign out a project, complete it over the weekend, and return it to the office next Monday.  This is an easy way to get hours, and it’s a huge service to our staff!  Contact the front office with any questions. Come hear the CPA Choir perform at the City of Westminster Holiday Tree Lighting this Saturday, December 7th.  The choir will take the stage in the outside pavilion area at 6:45.  We hope to see you there! Join us for the next regular PTA meeting this Thursday, December 5th at 6:00 in the CPA library. The PTA has several fun activities happening over the next two weeks: The Fun Services Holiday Shop will be available for students to purchase gifts for their family members after school the week of December 9th and also during the Holiday Craft Fair on December 14th and 15th.  Students will be able to preview items in the shop this Friday.  For more information, see the flyer on the CPA website. Progress reports were sent home with all students today, so please be sure you ask your student for his or her progress report.  If you have questions about grades, please contact the teachers directly. Is your child missing a coat, sweatshirt, lunchbox, water bottle, etc.?  All lost and found items will be put out by the front office through the end of this week.  Anything not claimed by Friday will be donated. Girl Scout Troop 63514 will be hosting the Holiday Gift Workshop for students in grades K-5 on Saturday, November 30th from 10:00-12:00 at Crown Pointe Academy.  The cost is $15.00 per child.  See the flyer on the CPA website for more information. Volunteer Opportunity!  We are looking for volunteers to judge the middle school science fair boards this Friday, November 15th at 3:45 in the CPA cafeteria.  This is a great chance to see the hard work of our middle school students while getting in some volunteer time!  You do not need to have a science background to help.  If you’re interested, please email Marcia Roe at marcia.roe@crownpointeacademy.org. The CPA Chick-fil-a Spirit Night Fundraiser is tomorrow, Tuesday, November 12th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the 104th and Federal location.  Chick-fil-a will donate a percentage of all sales back to the CPA Drama Club to be used for this year’s production of Alice in Wonderland.  Be sure you tell the cashier that you’re with CPA so we receive credit!  See the flyer on the CPA website for more information. Halloween is this Thursday.  Students are allowed to wear a school appropriate Halloween-themed t-shirt or an orange or black shirt to school.  Students who purchased jeans for the year may also wear jeans on Thursday.  No costumes please. The FISH Team will be hosting a special FISH-o-Ween event this Thursday, October 31st from 3:45-5:00.  Students in grades K-3 are invited to participate in some fun, Halloween-themed fitness activities with the 4th-8th grade FISH Team.  Please see the flyer and permission slip on the CPA website for more information, and contact Mr. Varner with any questions.
