Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. The CPA National Junior Honor Society is collecting socks and gloves this month that will be donated to local homeless shelters.  Bring in any new socks or gloves, and they will go on our sock and glove tree at the front office!  Please bring in any donations by December 17th.  Contact Mrs. Worley with questions.  Thank you! This Thursday, December 13th is the FISH Jr. Holiday Special after school from 3:45 to 5:00.  All students who would like to attend must turn in the permission slip by tomorrow, December 11th.  Contact Mr. Varner with any questions. We have some fun events coming up next week as we approach Winter Break.  Next Wednesday, December 19th, is Pajama Day.  Students may wear school appropriate pajamas to school.  On Thursday, December 20th, students may wear school appropriate holiday shirts along with jeans if they purchased jeans for the year.  At 10:15 next Thursday, December 20th, we will have the holiday sing-a-long for students in grades K-5.  If you plan to come for your student’s classroom party, please park in the lot behind the shopping center for overflow parking. The CPA middle school drama class is looking for donations of fabric that will be used to make the backdrops and props for the Drama Club’s performance of The Jungle Book coming up this spring.  They are specifically looking for earth and natural tones (browns, grays, blacks, greens, etc.), but they will take any fabric of any size in any pattern or design that you have!  Please turn any donation in to the front office. Join us for the PTA meeting this Thursday, December 6th at 6:00.  This month’s meeting will be at Bar Louie (10661 Westminster Blvd. #900, Westminster, 80220).  We hope to see you there! Progress reports were sent home with students today.  Please be sure to ask your student for his/her progress report, and contact the teachers with any questions. PTA Movie Night is this Friday, November 30th.  The doors will open at 6:00, and the movie, Home Alone, will start at 6:30.  Entrance is free and concessions will be available for purchase.  This is a family event– all students must be accompanied by an adult. Come and see the CPA Choir perform this Saturday, December 1st at the City of Westminster Holiday Lighting Ceremony!  The choir will take the stage in the outside plaza area at 6:15 p.m.  We hope to see you there! The end of the grading period for progress reports is this Wednesday, November 14th.  Progress reports will be sent home with students on Monday, November 26th. Is your child missing a coat, sweatshirt, lunchbox, water bottle, etc.?  All lost and found items will be put out by the front office through the end of this week.  Anything not claimed by Friday will be donated. On Halloween this Wednesday, students are allowed to wear a Halloween-themed t-shirt or an orange or black shirt to school.  Students who purchased jeans for the year may also wear jeans on Wednesday.  No costumes please. Join us for the PTA meeting this Thursday, November 1st at 6:00 in the CPA library.  We would love ideas for new activities and events at CPA.  We hope to see you there! Congratulations to Crown Pointe Academy’s newest Board Member, Edward Rey.  Mr. Rey will be replacing Keith Miller on the Board, and his term will end on June 30, 2020.  We originally expected an election for the open seat, so some families may receive a ballot in the mail.  If you receive a ballot, please disregard it.  Contact any Board member with questions. Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, October 4th from 4:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday, October 5th from 11:00-7:00 p.m.  Elementary parents must sign up for their conference time by clicking here.  Middle school conferences are held on a drop in, first come, first served basis.  For more information on conferences for both elementary and middle school, please see the letters on the CPA website.
