Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. Halloween is this Thursday.  Students are allowed to wear a school appropriate Halloween-themed t-shirt or an orange or black shirt to school.  Students who purchased jeans for the year may also wear jeans on Thursday.  No costumes please. The FISH Team will be hosting a special FISH-o-Ween event this Thursday, October 31st from 3:45-5:00.  Students in grades K-3 are invited to participate in some fun, Halloween-themed fitness activities with the 4th-8th grade FISH Team.  Please see the flyer and permission slip on the CPA website for more information, and contact Mr. Varner with any questions. Picture re-take day has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 6th.  Students who were absent on picture day or who were wanting a re-take will have their picture taken then.  If you sent your picture packet back to the school last week, it is being held and the office and will be delivered to the photographers next week.  Contact Leslie in the front office with any questions. Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. Due to a scheduling conflict with the photography company, individual student picture re-takes did not take place today.  We will reschedule picture re-takes and notify parents of when those will take place.  If you sent your student’s picture package back to the school, it will be held at the front office. Report cards were sent home with all students today, so please be sure you ask your student for his/her report card!  If you have any questions about grades or assignments, please contact the teachers directly. Does your child like to be creative, solve problems, and work on a team?  Come learn more about Crown Pointe Academy’s Destination Imagination program at the DI Kickoff Meeting this Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:30 in the CPA library.  For more information about Destination Imagination at CPA and the meeting on Wednesday, see the flyer on the website. Are you looking for volunteer hours?  Stop by the cafeteria this Friday, October 25th during dismissal for our Volunteer Brown Bag Pick Up event!  The process is so simple– just go to the cafeteria, sign out a project, complete it over the weekend, and return it next Monday.  This is a great way to get some hours, and it’s a huge service to our staff.  Contact the front office with any questions. Fall break is this week.  As a reminder, there is no school for students on Thursday, October 17th, Friday, October 18th, or Monday, October 21st.  Students return on Tuesday, October 22nd, and report cards will be sent home that day. Next Tuesday, October 22nd is class picture and picture re-take day.  All students must be in regular uniform this day.  If you ordered a picture packet and would like your student to take a re-take, please return the original picture packet to the school next Tuesday.  He/she will then have a new picture taken.  All students will also have their class picture taken next Tuesday; order forms for class pictures were sent home today.  If you have any questions, please contact Leslie or Trisha in the front office. The end of 1st quarter is this Friday, October 11th.  If you have any outstanding fines or fees, please stop by the office to clear those up as soon as possible. Crown Pointe Academy is scheduled to have our first lock down drill for the year this Friday, October 11th at 9:00 a.m.  Please read the attached document for more information about what the lock down drill will entail, and if you have any questions, please contact Mr. O or Mrs. Keyes. Wednesday, September 11th: Welcome to the Jungle Day- students may dress as their favorite animal.  No masks or face paint please! Thursday, September 12th: Comic Con Day- students may dress as their favorite character from a comic, movie, t.v., or book. Friday, September 13th: Pajama Day- students may wear their favorite pajamas to school. All outfits worn during Spirit Week must be school appropriate and fit the non-uniform guidelines in the uniform policy.  Any student who does not wish to participate in spirit week should wear their regular school uniform. We have heard many positive comments about CPA’s new school lunch program!  The salad bar is up and running, and students are eating more fresh fruits and veggies than ever before.  If you are interested in applying for free or reduced price meals, please complete the application HERE.  Even if you’re not sure if you will qualify, it’s  worth applying.  Student eligibility helps to support the meal program as well as providing potential funding for additional school programming.  Eligibility from last year will expire at the end of September, so apply now! You can add money to your student’s hot lunch accounts online using the Meal Time program.  To create an account, you will need to enter the number 125 followed by the student number.  You can find your student’s student number in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, or you can call the front office for assistance.
