Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. We hope that everyone had a great weekend! Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 25th, is our Chick-fil-a Spirit Night fundraiser from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the 104th and Federal location.  Chick-fil-a will give up to 20% of proceeds from CPA’s sales back to our school.  Be sure you tell the cashier inside or at the drive thru that you are with CPA so that we receive credit!  Students who dine in should check in at the welcome table.  The class with the highest participation will win a Chick-fil-a party at school.  All funds raised will go to the CPA Drama Club and this year’s production of The Jungle Book.   It’s spirit week at Crown Pointe Academy!  All students are invited to participate in the following fun theme days: Tuesday, September 25th: Crazy hair/hat day.  Students may do their hair in a crazy way or wear a crazy hat to school. Wednesday, September 26th: Pajama Day.  Students may wear their favorite pajamas to school.  Make sure you follow the non-uniform guidelines and that all clothing is school-appropriate. Thursday, September 27th: Mis-Match Day.  Students may wear mis-matched clothing to school.  Make sure you follow the non-uniform guidelines and that all clothing is school-appropriate. Friday, September 28th: Super Hero Day.  Students may dress like their favorite super hero or character.  No masks or face paint please!  Jeans are allowed for all students. If students choose not to participate in the theme days, they should wear their regular uniform to school. To wrap up our spirit week, the CPA-PTA is hosting the Back to School picnic this Friday, September 28th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  PTA will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks.  All families are asked to bring a side dish.  Please see the flyer on the CPA website for more information.  This is a family event– all students must be accompanied by an adult. The deadline to pay for jeans is this Friday, September 28th.  If you would like to purchase jeans for your student for the year, please bring your $30.00 payment to the front office.  All funds raised go towards the Spanish Trip fundraiser. Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up on Thursday, October 4th from 4:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday, October 5th from 11:00-7:00 p.m.  Elementary parents must sign up for their conference time by clicking here.  Middle school conferences are held on a drop in, first come, first served basis.  For more information on conferences for both elementary and middle school, please see the letters sent home with your child today.  The information is also on the CPA website. Save the date!  The Crown Pointe Academy PTA is hosting the Back to School Picnic on Friday, September 28th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Please see the flyer on the CPA website for more information. Fall picture day is next Tuesday, September 18th.  All students must be in uniform.  The deadline to order pictures is September 18th.  You can order a picture package by returning the payment envelope to the school or by ordering online at www.vangogh.com.  Our school code is 3003240.  Contact Leslie in the front office with questions. To celebrate the Denver Broncos season opener next Sunday, this Friday, September 7th is ORANGE FRIDAY!  Students may wear solid orange or blue shirts or Denver Broncos shirts to school on Friday. Please join us!  The first PTA meeting for the year is this Thursday, September 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the CPA library, and everyone is encouraged to attend!  Meet other CPA families and staff and learn about the many ways you can be involved at CPA this year.  We hope to see you there! The first Building Accountability Advisory Committee (BAAC) meeting is next Wednesday, September 12th at 4:30 in the CPA library, and we are looking for new members!  The BAAC is responsible for reviewing CPA’s academic performance, programming, finances, and safety and making recommendations to the Academy Board.  If you’re interested in joining this important committee, please join us next Wednesday.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ouweneel or Mrs. Keyes. It’s hard to believe we have already reached the end of another school year.  Thank you for making this year a great success.  We wish all families a safe and happy summer! Do you want to avoid the rush of purchasing school supplies before school starts in August?  You can order a school supply kit specific to your student’s grade and school supply list, and it will be delivered to the school in August!  Click here:  1st Day School Supply Kit  and follow the steps to order your kit.  The deadline to order is June 15th.  See the flyer for more information, and contact the office with any questions. We still have 9 copies of this year’s standard yearbook available for purchase at the front office.  Each book is $16.50, and they are available on a first come, first served basis. Please stop by the office as soon as possible to take care of any last fines or fees owed.  Final report cards will not be released and high school records for 8th grade students will not be sent until all fines and fees are taken care of.  Contact Sandi MacGregor with any questions. Elementary Field Day is coming up this Thursday, May 17th.  Grades 3-5 will have their activities from 8:20-11:20, and grades K-2 will have their activities from 12:10-3:10.  Students must wear appropriate attire.  Please see the flyer on the CPA website for more information. Volunteer Opportunity!  Mr. Varner could use some help setting up for field day on Wednesday at 3:45.  If you’re able to help, please meet Mr. Varner in the gym after school. The CPA-PTA will be hosting a bake and snack sale during field day.  They are seeking donations of baked items.  Please bring any donations to the front office.   See the flyer on the CPA website for more information. The end of year Awards Assemblies are next Monday, May 21st.  Elementary awards will take place at 1:00, and middle school awards will take place at 2:00.  Parents of students receiving certificates will be notified by email TOMORROW. The Crown Pointe Academy Drama Club will be presenting William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Pomona High School this Saturday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m.  We are requesting a $2.00 donation per person to attend.  We hope to see you there!
