Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. We hope that everyone had a great weekend! Big FISH Night is coming up this Friday, January 18th from 5:30-8:00 p.m.  This fun and engaging fitness expo is open to students and families in all grades, and all students must be accompanied by an adult.  See the flyer and schedule of events on the CPA website for more information. The CPA-PTA is hosting the Snowball Dance on Friday, January 25th from 6:00-8:30 p.m.  Join us for a night of fun with food, music, and dancing!  Entrance to the dance is free, and concessions and glow sticks will be available for purchase.  If you are interested in volunteering to help with the dance, please sign up by clicking here.  See the flyer on the CPA website for more information. The Academy Board approved school calendars for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years at their meeting last week.  Please see this week’s Update (attached) for more information about the calendars, and the approved calendars are available under the Monday Folder documents on the CPA website. As a school, we have recorded 7,182 volunteer hours for the year.  Please remember to record all of your volunteer hours and help us reach our volunteering goal of 14,000 hours for the year.  Demonstrating strong parental involvement can help CPA qualify for grants and other funding opportunities, so it’s important that every hour is recorded.  You can fill out the paper log and return it to the office, or you can record your hours online by sending an email to volunteer@crownpointeacademy.org.  Make sure to include your name, your student’s name, and the total hours volunteered for the month in the email.  Thank you! Report cards were sent home with all students today.  Please be sure you ask your student for his/her report card, and contact the teachers with any questions. Our Mission: The mission of Crown Pointe Academy is to promote creativity, curiosity, character, and community in a challenging Core Knowledge environment. The CPA National Junior Honor Society is collecting socks and gloves this month that will be donated to local homeless shelters.  Bring in any new socks or gloves, and they will go on our sock and glove tree at the front office!  Please bring in any donations by December 17th.  Contact Mrs. Worley with questions.  Thank you! If your student is missing a coat, sweatshirt, lunchbox, water bottle, etc., please stop by the office this week to check out the lost and found!  Anything not claimed by the end of the week will be donated. We have some fun events this week as we approach Winter Break: Pajama Day is this Wednesday, December 19th.  Students may wear school appropriate pajamas to school. Holiday Shirt Day is Thursday, December 20th.  Students may wear school appropriate holiday shirts along with jeans if they purchased jeans for the year. The Holiday Sing-a-Long and choir performance is this Thursday, December 20th at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to come for your student’s classroom party, please park in the lot behind the shopping center for overflow parking. The CPA Board is currently in the process of conducting the annual Director’s Evaluation.  As a parent run charter school, Parents, Guardians, Staff and Community Members are all welcome to provide written feedback during this evaluation process.  Please see the Director’s Evaluation Letter link below for details. This Thursday, December 13th is the FISH Jr. Holiday Special after school from 3:45 to 5:00.  All students who would like to attend must turn in the permission slip by tomorrow, December 11th.  Contact Mr. Varner with any questions. Progress reports were sent home with students today.  Please be sure to ask your student for his/her progress report, and contact the teachers with any questions. PTA Movie Night is this Friday, November 30th.  The doors will open at 6:00, and the movie, Home Alone, will start at 6:30.  Entrance is free and concessions will be available for purchase.  This is a family event– all students must be accompanied by an adult. Come and see the CPA Choir perform this Saturday, December 1st at the City of Westminster Holiday Lighting Ceremony!  The choir will take the stage in the outside plaza area at 6:15 p.m.  We hope to see you there!
